Creamy Mocha Protein Smoothie

Need a little afternoon pick-me-up or something to boost your morning productivity? This Creamy Mocha Protein Smoothie is small and mighty, a powerhouse full of healthy fats and protein to keep you feeling fuller longer, with a little boost of caffeine to keep you going!

Did you know that collagen is the most abundant type of protein in our bodies? It gives our skin elasticity, aids in joint strength, and reduces cellulite and stretch marks. It also boosts our metabolism and helps break down proteins to soothe the gut’s lining, healing damaged cell walls and infusing it with amino acids. The benefits of adding collagen into your diet are abundant.

Collagen is known as a complex protein because it has a whopping 19 amino acids. However, this collagen only has 8 of the 9 essential amino acids and it needs to be paired with something in order to to be a complete protein.

Enter Hemp! Probably one of the best plant based sources of protein, hemp seeds/hearts have 10 grams of proteins with 12 grams of omegas 3&6!

If you are low carb, this is a great option for you. Hemp has more protein and omegas with fewer carbs per serving than chia or flax seedHemp is a super seed packed with plant-based protein, healthy fats and other vital nutrients like magnesium, fiber, zinc and iron.

I like to sprinkle Hemp Hearts on salad, oatmeal, in yogurt or blend them into smoothies like this!

This is a coffee you can feel good about!

We loved this one!! I put an extra date and about a teaspoon of Enjoy Life chocolate chips in my daughters. Yummy!!

    1. Hello Melanie,
You can replace the cashews with any other nut of your choice, but if you have a tree nut allergy you can replace it with your seed of choice.

This is my new favorite afternoon snack. It replaces my cup of coffee. I add a little Stevia, a tablespoon of chocolate chips, and a little extra cacao and coffee 😉

  3. Hey Brittany! So can I soak the cashews overnight if i want this smoothie for breakfast? I leave for work at 6:00AM and don’t get up early enough to soak them in morning. thanks!

    1. Hi Ashley,
Thanks so much for reaching out! Yes you could totally soak the cashews overnight if you’d like.

  4. Hi! I’d like to soak the cashews ahead of time to have available for smoothies, etc. If I do this, do I drain them store them in the fridge? How long do you think they’d keep?
    Thanks for your time!

  5. Can I skip the coffee? NOT a coffee drinker…also how else would I use the collagen peptides? I’ve never used anything like that before.
