The Importance of Keeping a Food Journal- Day 7

Sundays are always our laid back day. We usually eat leftovers and lots of raw veggies and I take a little rest from cooking. It has been such an encouraging week due in part to all of you! Your sweet comments, your wonderful reviews of my recipes, and the countless people who have reached out to share a little bit of their own story, I hear you, I appreciate you, and I am so inspired by you.

Last week my sister was in town for her birthday and Easter. We ate out a lot and even though I didn’t eat anything bad my portion sizes were out of control. At the end of the week I was up 7 lbs. Tomorrow I will do my weekly weigh in but as you can see, after going back to eating at home this week, I’m back down to my lowest weight. All 7 of those pounds came off pretty quick once I got back on track!

I’m excited for next week! The 150’s are so close I can taste them! I haven’t been in the 150’s since I was 15/16 years old!

Below is what I ate today. It will be listed chronologically, with each item (food, drink, or other) appearing in the order it was consumed.

BREAKFAST
16oz Water
Green Coconut Smoothie
-handful of spinach
-1 tbsp coconut oil
-2 tsp flax seed
-1/2 lemon, juiced
-1/4 cup frozen berries
-1/4 green apple
-8oz water


1 Strawberry Breakfast Cookie

16oz water

LUNCH
8oz water
1 cup of leftover Instant Pot Taco Soup
1/2 avocado
Sprinkle of cilantro

 

SNACK
1 Strawberry Breakfast Cookie
2 slices of Turkey Breast

16oz water

 

DINNER
Veggie Platter (cucumbers, celery, bell peppers, broccoli) with Hummus
34oz water

  1. WOW! WOW! WOW! Brittney I have read your story and I am very amazed and I have tried and tried to lose what weight (My last 30 lbs.) in 2000 I was at 205 lbs. and been trying to loose weight since, I am now at 155 lbs. I want to lose the weight, I am so unhappy, I live alone & don’t really want to go out, the only time I do go out is to the PO or doctor’s appointments. I did almost every diet the I could think of, in 1982 I went down to 123 doing Nutri System but gained it all back after I stopped buying their foods. Help me Brittney please I am so tired of this body I am living with and hating my body, I have done all the gyms, personal trainers, excercizing DVD’s, walking, everything just to lose a few pounds but never kept it off. I am 72 yrs old I just had my birthday last month and had it alone. I sure hope – NO! I KNOW you can help me because I love seeing the twinkle in your eyes and I love seeing you doing some cooking.

    1. Lynn Margaret, I just read Brittanys eating guide and meal plan and bought her recipe plans. I just read your comment and wondered how you are doing?
