Paleo Brownies

You cannot go wrong with these Paleo Brownies! 

When I was pregnant with our first baby I craved chocolate something fierce! It was like I could not stop eating chocolate! I would send Brady to the store in the middle of the night to go get me a chocolate bar, I had candy stashed in every corner of the house.  It was quite the situation.  It was the first time I was pregnant and I knew I would never have a better excuse to indulge.

What is the one thing you craved more than anything when you were pregnant?

Well the second time around, I wasn’t going to allow myself to do that again so I developed this brownie recipe as an alternative to store-bought box mixes.  I was pleasantly surprised when this recipe helped with those chocolate cravings.  These Paleo Brownies are still one of our favorite “healthy” treats!

Who doesn’t love brownies? I have not met a person to date who dislikes them. A even better brownie is one that is guilt free and you can indulge in. These Paleo Brownies check off all of those boxes.

I love making these because they are great for treats for the kids and great for people who are on a diet. This is also a great recipe to take to get togethers and family gatherings. Definitely a recipe that all will want to know. So simple and yet so good. I recommend this recipe to absolutely everyone.

You can’t go wrong with these brownies.

Note: I prefer these with organic raw cane sugar or coconut cane sugar but honey, maple syrup and agave are appropriate substitutes!

Paleo Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Almond Butter
  • 1/2 cup Homemade Almond Milk or Coconut Milk
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 tsp Sea Salt
  • 1/3 cup Cacao Powder
  • 1/4 cup Raw Cane Sugar Raw Honey, Agave, or 100% Pure Maple Syrup
  • 1/3 cup Dairy Free Chocolate Chips
  • 1/3 cup Chopped Nuts optional

Instructions

  • Grease 8x8 baking dish
  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Add all ingredients except for chocolate chips and nuts to a large bowl and mix with a hand mixer or a stand mixer.
  • Stir in chocolate chips.
  • Pour into prepared baking dish and sprinkle the top with chopped nuts.
  • Bake for approximately 18 minutes.

After having my 3rd child I am very overweight and I am ready to loose weight and get my life back! Finding your page and seeing your results and you sharing your recipes gives me hope!   3. We made these last night and they are yummy! They are light and fluffy, not as heavy as a regular brownie, but still tasty. They’re helping me resist temptations and I don’t feel bad allowing my kids to have a little treat after dinner. Thanks!!

  4. Is the first ingredient really almond butter?
    Not almond flour?
    I don’t see an ingredient to solidify the brownies.
    Guess I just have to operate on faith and try the recipe.

  6. I just made these and they are delicious! I do have a question about the baking time. At 18 min the middle was very wet so I baked 3 more minutes…still wet…then 5 more minutes…still looked wet in the middle but I was scared to bake them any longer. They are the perfect consistency now that they have cooled. Is the middle being wet at 18 minutes cooking time normal and then they set up when cooled? Thank you Brittany or anyone else who has made these for your thoughts.

  7. Just made these and I was blown away!!!! I didn’t have almond butter so I used all natural peanut butter (no sugar, just peanut and oil). I don’t even taste the peanut butter. Thank you so much for sharing this. I cut them when they were completely cooked and the texture was great. 18 min exactly.

    These are very good! I think they taste best after they’ve cooled down for about an hour. My family loves them!

  9. Can you use cocoa powder instead of cacao powder? I’m not dairy free and that’s what I have in my pantry.

      Thank you for reaching out! I do not include the calorie count or nutritional information on any of my recipes. All ingredients have different nutritional information so it will always vary depending on the exact ingredients (brands) you’re using. If you need to track nutritional information it’s best to calculate it for each recipe with your own ingredients into a program like MyFitness Pal because it can vary A LOT.
