Instant Pot Beef Gyros

Print Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Beef Stew Meat sliced 1/4 in thick
  • 1 Large Onion sliced thinly
  • 2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 cup Homemade Vegetable Broth

Instructions

  • Pre-heat the Instant Pot using the SAUTE function. When the display panel reads ‘HOT’ add stew meat and the sliced onion and brown the meat.
  • Once the meat has a little color add the rest of the ingredients and stir to incorporate.
  • Hit cancel, put the lid on your pot, and make sure the valve is in the sealed position.
  • Program the pot, using the MANUAL function, to 30 mins on high pressure or just press the MEAT/STEW button.
When the time is up let the pot naturally release the pressure. This will allow your meat to maintain a lot of it’s moisture. It takes about 15 minutes.
  • Serve with Tzatziki sauce and grain free-dairy free flat breads.

  1. Thanks for the recipe!

I had trouble when I added the beef, as it overwhelmed the heated pot and simmered instead of browned. Next time I will brown in batches! The flavor was good, my husband suggested more herbs and lots more garlic. Tons of gravy, maybe over rice to eat the leftovers.

I look forward to tasting more from you!

  2. These gyros are so good! My husband asks for these ever since the first time i made them. What a great recipe….I’ve added the meat with the tzatziki sauce to a salad.

  3. I made this last night and it was so good! The beef was tender, just perfect. Even my super picky 10-year-old loved it. Made the Tzatziki Sauce and my husband almost cleaned out the bowl. I was following the meal plan for week 2, but I couldn’t bring myself to eat it over greens, only. I needed pita bread! Next time, I plan on making your Grain Free-Dairy Free Flat Bread so there’s no guilt. Lol. I’ll be making this often. Thank you!

    1. Awesome! My husband *loved* this when I told him to taste it, too! I need a Tzatziki Sauce recipe…we tried one I found online from Allrecipes, but it’s too bitter…I’m glad you posted this comment b/c I did not even see the Tzatziki Sauce recipe on here! haha. BTW, Blogger, thanks for posting these awesome recipes!!!

  4. Only 1/4 cup of liquid? I thought with the IP you need 1 cup of liquid. I’m a newbie so I’m just learning 🙂

  5. I made these tonight. The entire family liked them! That is no small statement in my home. The meat was so tender – I almost never buy stew meat because it is so tough.
I really liked the sauce also.
I even made the flat breads because I’ve been enjoying cooking so much lately. They were okay. I would do it again because now I have a bag of cassava flour – haha!
