Barbecue Jalapeño Burgers
Print RecipeIngredients
- 1.3 lbs Lean Ground Meat
- 1/2 large Yellow Onion
- 1 large Jalapeno
- 2 tsp Minced Onion dried
- 2 tsp Parsley
- 1 tsp Salt
- Pepper
- Cheddar/Jack Cheese Optional
- 1/2 cup Homemade Barbecue Sauce
- All your favorite hamburger fixings!
Instructions
- Pre-heat cast iron pan to medium. These work well on the BBQ too!
- Roughly chop onion and jalapeño and throw it in your food processor. Pulse, Pulse, Pulse, until the onion and the jalapeño are finely chopped.
- Using your hands gently combine jalapeño/onion mixture, meat, minced onion, parsley, and salt. The more you work the meat the tougher it will become so only mix until just combined.
- Form patties, this mixture makes about six. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Once your cast iron is pre-heated add a swirl of olive oil. Then add burger patties.
- When the patties are cooked half way through, flip and reduce the heat to medium low.
- Add barbecue sauce to the tops of the burgers and then add a thin slice of cheese (optional).
- Cover cast iron with a lid and let burgers continue cooking, about 5-8 minutes.
- Serve with your favorite fixings and Paleo Sandwich thins instead of a bun.
These burgers are probably the household favorite!!! We aren’t bbq or jalapeño fans…but that makes no difference! These burgers are incredible no matter what!
I’m very new to this all – eating well & the Instant Pot both – and have a question. Do you think this would work as individual meatballs? And in your experience, do you have any idea how long they’d cook in the Instant Pot. Thanks in advance! You’re inspirational!!
I know everyone usually takes an eating plan and modifies it to their own liking and that’s great! I do get concerned though when modified eating plans aren’t noted as such and Paleo seekers are led to these variations without a note of these variations, such as the dairy in this Cheddar Burger recipe. Please consider making a note that this is more a Primal recipe than Paleo. Thank you.
