How To Slim Your Mommy Tummy Without Exercise!

I get asked A LOT about what I did to get my stomach so flat without exercise. After six pregnancies in five years, four cesareans, and losing 125 lbs my stomach is in sad shape.

This is how I slim my mom tummy without exercise!

I’d like to tell you there’s some mystical cure. That all “problem areas” magically disappear with a clean diet but some things just don’t go back. In the photo below you can see that my tummy still has a clear overhang and my thighs have lots of ripples from being stretched to 260 lbs.

The line on my stomach is a tan line. That’s how high I wear my bathing suit and my pants. I have my shorts pulled down low to show you what I’m talking about.

I can improve the appearance of my tummy but I’m not disillusioned. My body has been through a lot. Short of having surgery to erase those things I know they’ll always be around. My stomach will shrink a bit if I lose another 10-15 lbs. but I’ve had 4 cesareans so I know my hang is here to stay.

I’ve worn shape wear since I was a teen. I have always liked the way it smooths everything when I wear dresses.  I used to wear the full getup. Thigh slimmer/ tummy slimmer– if you’ve ever put one of those on you know what a pain they are.

A few months ago during a shopping trip to Kohls I found this Maiden Form Shapewear. It only covers the tummy and uses the same principal as a waist trainer. It’s just a little less intense. I bought mine for $31 at Kohls, that was with 30% off. Amazon has them for as little as $19.

I receive the compliment, “you tummy is so flat!”but it’s really not, it’s just disguised with awesome gizmo gadgetry. lol

Mine is a little discolored because I wore it with a black dress I hadn’t washed yet. Oops…

I started with a size medium when I was around 160 lbs and sized down to a small when I hit the 140’s. I am in the 130’s now and I still wear the small.

It smooths my stomach nicely so that when I’m wearing something form fitting, like a dress, my extra skin isn’t noticeable. It doesn’t have the panty attachment so it’s not cutting into my butt/thighs and it’s much easier to put on.

I have not been paid for this review. This is just a common question I receive and my 100% authentic honest answer.

I don’t wear my shape wear all the time. I only wear it if I’m wearing a form fitting dress that needs slimming. This is a photo of me without shape wear in jeans and a shirt.

Wearing pants holds my pooch in and keeps it disguised nicely. Unless you’re really looking to be critical you’d never even know I had one!

  1. You are amazing! It takes courage to post pictures like that and I am so grateful you did. I’ve had 4 kids in 5 short years (my youngest is only 3 months!) and my stomach looks exactly like yours. We don’t see stretched out mommy bodies online. But the reality is, many of us have them! I’ve been dealing with hating the way my body looks but your recipes and then this post has me believing I can look “smaller” even with my awesome Mom bod 😉 and it’s nice to know I’m not alone ❤️

    1. I’m so glad I could be an encouragement Raeanne. There is a massive temptation to obsess over these areas that I don’t like. But I’ve come so far and my body has been through so much, I have to continuously remind myself how amazing my body truly is. All these bumps, lines, and curves tell my story and it’s a good story. 🙂

  2. Thank you for sharing. I was just shocked when I had overhanging skin that would not go away even after I lost all of my pregnancy weight. I did eventually have a tummy tuck with muscle repair when I was 41. It was painful recovering from that, and I have a very pronounced scar from hip to hip even 12 yrs later, but it really does feel better having my tum muscles back together and not having that baggy skin pushing into my tum when I am sitting and wearing jeans!
I recently wore a two piece while swimming–the big scar showing and all. I swim at 6AM, and luckily my husband was the only other person swimming that morning. I am still working on not disliking my body shape!

  3. Thank you for “keeping it real.” None of us is perfect and we share common issues. I appreciate your honesty and information for feeling comfortable in our clothes.

  4. You are such an encouragement. I love following you. You show us its possible without having to worry about working out all the time. It is awesome that you are so transparent. It lets me know its possible. Thank you so much. I really needed this today. I am currently 235 and I am more positive that I will get there.

  5. Thanks for much for sharing your photos and products information. You’re an inspiration to all women. Many blessings to you and your family.

  6. Thank you for your honest sharing and tips. I am very happy to have found your blog as I am also on a weight loss journey. Congratulations on your success! Also, I love seeing all your Lularoe! 🙂

  7. You look amazing. Thank u for sharing. I’m excited to follow you and try your recipes and get back on track since I’m staring nursing school in Jan

  8. I luv your story and your website. I don’t agree though that the over- hang нαѕ to stay. (And I’ve had 3 c-sections.) my last pregnancy was a set of amazing twins. I noticed this post says without exercise. Imagine what exercise ωσυℓ∂ do.

  9. Although I can’t say that I’ve been at 260 pounds. So you have a point with that. And now I remember on weight loss shows that it’s surgery that removes the loose skin. By looking at уσυя pic though, it doesn’t seem unattainable.

  10. Love your straightforward answers to followers questions. I’m new to your blog but I am already feeling motivated! 6 kids later, I also have a swinging trapeeze for a stomach but finding an awesome resource like this for encouragement is golden. I had a love for my Ipot since day one, so excited to use it for not only time saving, but the good of my family!

  11. I’m in my late 50’s, but does anyone remember when our parents generation wore girdles all the time? When I got married in 1980, my mother insisted that I wear a girdle under my wedding dress. What a eye opener that was. (I was only about 145 pounds). But after thinking about that moment for almost 40 years, I think of how women and girls dress now… Loose clothing, elastic waist bands, sweats, etc. If anyone is like me, I have a indentation on my waist where the elastic of my underwear has ‘held’ me in over all these years. Can you imagine what would have happened if I would have worn a body shaper or something similar for all these years. I think because of what we wear now, it allows that skin to stretch more than ever. Now gaining weight doesn’t help, but think about it.

I applaud your use of a shaper, and I think it is very smart. You have inspired me to try this and to keep using it.

Do you happen to be able to wear it if you are sitting? or is it for when you are going out and about?

Thanks for being such an inspiration! You have done a tremdous job!

  12. Thanks for this post! I cannot even express how much I appreciate your honesty, real photos and positive outlook. You are such an inspiration! I am on a weight loss journey and posts like these encourage me and refresh me. Also, dang you are beautiful! 🙂

  13. Recently stumbled across your blog and you are so inspirational. I am a 57 year old mom and grandma–I had 5 kids and my top weight was 238 pounds. I am 5’3″ and because of my many pregnancies and yo-yo diets, I too have a lot of sag, wrinkly skin and cellulite. I also have a couple of autoimmune disease and am sick of trying low-carb, paleo and all other other plans out there that are simply not sustainable for me. I love your plan, but your meal plan bundle and am determined to get my 138-pound body down to 120 Thank you for your courage to post your pictures–you are much braver than I!

  14. Hi there! I stumbled across your blog while researching a tummy tuck after a csection. First of all I want to say thank you!
I am lucky enough to live in an area that does a lot of clinical trials. I am scheduled for a mini tummy tuck to research efficiency of a pain medication. They do the tuck at no charge a d pay me to do it.
Your before photo is exactly what I look like now. I am more than excited to have this done now.
I had breast augmentation 8 years ago, then gained about 30 pounds due to some medication I was on. I am now back down to 140 after the weight loss.
Thank you so much for your honesty, truly an inspiration!
