Reese Peanut Butter Meal Replacement “Milkshake”

When I’m craving some ice cream, and my sweet tooth won’t stop barking, this healthy Peanut Butter Milkshake is always a delicious treat!

When I started my weight loss journey, I knew that getting rid of all of my favorite sweets was a great way to fail fast. Restriction has never lead to success for me but finding healthier substitutes for all of my favorite things, that is much more sustainable. After all I wasn’t looking to lose weight fast but for life.

One of my favorite desserts is a Peanut Butter Milkshake. My mom got me hooked after Sonic released a Peanut Butter Pie Milkshake one year. I think I had one twice a week that entire summer! Unfortunately, having a 2,000 calorie milkshake twice a week isn’t really the best thing for my body.

But, like I said, I am all about solutions and not restriction. I took it upon myself to begin experimenting and come up with a delicious nutrition packed shake that doesn’t sacrifice flavor for health. If I’m craving one of my dreamy Sonic milkshakes, this heathy peanut butter dupe always does the job!

  • 1/2 tablespoons dairy free chocolate chips

  1. I will look for PB powder next time I shop but I have organic creamy peanut butter on hand, will that work? If so how much would you recommend? Thanks!

  2. This was so good! My kids love it too! I’ve subbed 1T cocoa powder when I was out of the chocolate chips and it was still delicious 🙂

  3. I did substitute the powder for peanut butter since that’s what I have on hand and substituted the cacao powder with cocoa powder. My goal was to start eating healthier so changing the way I ate was a start and now slowly moving over to organic. LOVE THIS RECIPE!!

  4. I have been drinking this shake daily for weeks. I love it! I feel 100% full from it which I never thought would be possible. My pants are fitting better and I think it has a lot to do with this shake. The PB Powder is insanely good. I had been spending a small fortune trying protein powders from whole foods and they were all really really gross. I can’t say THANK YOU enough for the recommendation! Love it.

  5. I’m not a fan of peanut butter but would love to hear about anything that resembles a nutritious chocolate flavored shake, please.

  6. Oh my goodness! Just made this and it is DELICIOUS! I used almond butter instead of PB because I am allergic to PB and that would make this less tasty for me 🙂

  7. This is amazing!!! I found this recipe on your site about a month ago and have made it at least 3x/week since. I omit the dairy free chocolate chips because they’re not even needed. I’M OBSESSED. Perfect snack or sweet treat!

I’ve made tons of your recipes (muffins, granola bars, oats, soups, etc.) since discovering you after my mom saw you on good morning America not long ago. My husband and I have loved every single one. The other night he said “seriously, I could easily eat healthy all the time if you keep making stuff this delicious!”

    Thank you, Brittany!! You’re inspiring & you’re changing lives<3

  8. Love this. Thanks! What’s better then chocolate and PB? I drink this in middle of the afternoon. I need something after lunch but before dinner and it keeps me from snacking during nap time

  9. This is phenomenal !! I have had this a couple times in my first week following your program. Is it okay to use pb2?
By far my favorite out of everything I think! Especially when It’s 100 degrees outside !
Does it take a while sometime to lose weight your first week or two?

Thank you for all you do. Hoping to see results soon

  10. This recipe was great! I subbed frozen strawberries for the banana, since I’m allergic and I think it was still delicious!

  11. Anything chocolate gives me migraines, but I’m a huge sucker for all things peanut butter. If I was making this recipe without the cacao and chips, would you keep the rest of the measurements the same, or should I increase peanut butter for flavor? Can’t wait to try this!

  12. Do you have any suggestions for something other than a banana? I absolutely hate them. So many smoothies call for them, and I imagine they make a great texture, but I can taste them even in “hidden” recipes and I just cannot do it.

    1. You can use 1/2 avocado and a couple Medjool dates instead <3 The avocado is for the creamy texture and the dates are for the sweetness.

  13. I would like to put in the nutritional value & calories today & not seeing it on My Fitness Pal like all of your other smoothies & shakes! Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks!

    1. Hi Carrie,
I would suggest adding the ingredients you use when creating the recipe manually, and then save it so you can easily find it in the future.

  14. 5 stars
Family favorite here for the kids. The smell of frozen banana is overpowering for me. I will make again and sub in avocado due to my smell sensitivity. Delicious flavor!
