Monthly Weight Loss Weigh In {September}

Happy October y’all! It’s time for my monthly weight loss weigh in for September! As y’all know I am not actively trying to lose weight anymore. Back in June I hit a healthy weight for my height.

August 2017 was the first month since January that I didn’t lose any weight at all. I expected it and was totally content to hang out right around 139 pounds for an entire month. I would ideally like to hang out in the low 130’s, but as long as I’m healthy, I’m happy!

Right now my focus is on letting my body settle wherever it feels best while continuing to be mindful of the foods that don’t make me feel my best. I’m still staying away from processed food, fortified flours, dairy, and most sugar. I don’t feel good when I eat them and they make me store belly fat like nobody’s business.

Last month Costco discounted Almond Roca, it’s one of my favorite candies and I went a bit overboard on an Almond Roca binge. I may have had 9 of them in one night. Not my finest moment. It gave me the worst tummy ache too.

I also had my first sub sandwich in a year last month. I ordered a small Turkey Bacon Ranch from Firehouse Subs (which is about the size of a fist). It was delicious but it made me feel bloated and stuffed for the rest of the day.

Pretty sure there was an ice cream from Costco thrown in there somewhere too. Dairy just really doesn’t agree with me anymore and it tied my stomach up in knots.

Those were my three big splurges last month. Everything else I ate in September was exactly what I’ve been eating for the last year. Lots of plant based foods, little to no processed foods, eating the vast majority of our meals at home, and keeping sugar at a minimum.

The photo on the left is a photo of me last September, it’s crazy the difference a year can make.

This month, splurges and all, I dropped from 139 lbs to 137 lbs. To record, my lowest weight since middle school. I feel beautiful, I feel confident, I feel like myself again.
